Department of Anaesthesiology

The Department of Anaesthesia at Gangamai Hospital provides Anaesthesia services primarily to two Operation Theatre complexes which cater to major surgical specialities like Neurosurgery, paediatric surgery, vascular and endovascular, minimally invasive endo urology and laser, orthopaedics, ENT, Joint replacements and trauma, etc. The Anaesthesia/ pain management department provides comprehensive round the clock services through a group of senior pain consultant/anaesthesiologist, primary consultant of the patient, psychiatrists, neurologists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists in all surgical specialties. Anaesthesia Department of Gangamai Hospital has got all ultra modern hi-tech equipment & monitoring system.

Pre-anaesthesia check- up prior to any surgery is mandatory in order to decide on which modality of anaesthesia is suitable for each patient. The department has skilled and experienced anaesthesiologists who are also qualified in pain medicine.

Pain management is a subspecialty of anaesthesiology, using an interdisciplinary approach to ease the suffering and improve the quality of life of those living with pain.

We provide effective management of long term pain through the coordinated efforts of the management team. Annually we anaesthetize over 900 patients for operative procedures.
